All parents have now received a mid year report on their child’s progress. In many cases, the reports do not always clearly indicate the child’s weaknesses or areas of concern. Children in years 3,5,7 and 9 have also completed the NAPLAN tests. Though the results have not been released at this stage, some teachers have indicated to parents that there is some concern about how their child is going in literacy at school. If you are concerned with how your child is going in any of the literacy subjects such as reading comprehension, spelling, writing and word recognition, now is the time you should be looking for ways to address these weaknesses. A comprehensive assessment and an individual program designed to address them is offered by the Clinic. Assessments will be offered in the second week of the school holidays.
